Weigh In- Week 4

Well I had my weigh in tonight and I lost 1.8 lbs.  I know this sounds good and I should be happy but I was disappointed.  I talked to my leader after the meeting about how I was feeling and we both decided that I needed to stop setting such high goals.  I had set a goal of hitting my 5% tonight which would have meant I had to lose 3.4 lbs but in the back of my head I really wanted to hit my 15 lbs loss mark which would have been 4.8 lbs.  I know now that both these goals we're to high.  I just figured if I ate right and stayed within my daily points that I would have a big loss and I have to quit doing this to myself.  I'm tired of everytime I weigh in being disappointed.  So from now on I'm just setting a goal of 1 lb, I should be able to accomplish that.  So my total loss so far is 12.6 lbs.  Yay

  1. Congratulations!! I know you were disappointed, and you can't help that. But 12.8 lb is impressive!!! It sure motivates me! If you can reprogram the mindset to lower your weekly expectations, though, I know it will help you come away motivated as well, and not disappointed. You're doing great. Slow and steady wins the race. I can't tell you how many times I've lost "x" amount of pounds quickly... only to turn around a week later and they are back. And they usually bring along some extra pounds for the ride. Bleh. I do understand, though, and before long you'll probably be telling me the same thing. Heck maybe even Thursday after I have WI #2! Good for you, though, for talking to your leader, and good for her for giving you what sounds like great advice. Have a great Wednesday!! (Wed is my favorite day of the week because my favorite show REVENGE comes on tv!!)

  3. Congrats on the weightloss. I totally understand expecting more and more - how can we not when watching things like biggest loser and they are losing 15 lbs a week. I have decided that since they say 1-2 lbs/week is healthy then I want to lose more than 1.5 lbs/week.

  4. Christina, I felt like I was losing at a snail's pace and then all of a sudden a year had gone by and my doctor was raving over my 25 pound weight loss. Keep up the good work!!
