I HATE Exercise

This post is going to be short and simple.  I know I have to exercise to lose weight and get healthy but sometimes I literally HATE walking.  Now don't get me wrong there are days where I feel like I could keep walking forever but today was not one of those days.  I would have rather went to the doctor an got a shot or went to the dentist an had a tooth pulled then walked today.  I may not have set any records or walked farther then I ever had but I made myself go do it.  I whined and complained the whole time but I made myself keep going.  Its days like today that make me proud of how far I have came because even when I want to be lazy and my old self is making excuses not to do anything I just suck it up and do it.  So when that little voice is telling you that you don't have to exercise just remember who is boss and why you are doing this.  If I can do this then I know all of you can, just keep pushing forward.

  1. Good point. See I am sitting bundled up on the couch, watching college football, chiling with my hubby. Not to mention that I still have makeup on-so to exercise I would have to take if off, get off the couch and my little cocoon, etc. So I feel ya!

  2. Polar's Mom I use to always wait until the evening to exercise but the more I exercise early in the day the more I'm liking it. I can get it over with and not have to think about it the rest of the day, I can just relax now. I think in your situation it would be hard to get up and go exercise to, sounds like your having a great day with your hubby.

  3. See now sometimes the victory *isn't* about setting a new PR for speed or walking further than you've ever walked before. Sometimes the real victory is just about overcoming lethargy and inertia and the call of the couch and getting your butt out the door in the first place (or at least, that's how it is for me) - but most of the time, we don't think to celebrate those victories, because we think it's just something we "should" be doing anyway so it doesn't deserve recognition, let alone celebration.

FWIW, I think that "making yourself do it" today was, in itself, a major victory. Yep, it's only one battle you'll have to fight, but it's still one that you won. You have every right to feel proud of yourself - well done!

  5. Been there!! Usually, my problem is getting started, and making it through the first 10-15 mins or so. Once I'm on a roll, I'm glad I did. But geez.. some days it's a war! Great job on making yourself!

  7. For me it isn't that I hate exercise - It's the getting my rear out the door that is hard for me. I have always prayed on my walks and runs. Now it seems that there are always people asking for prayers. Keeping in mind that people are counting on helps get me in gear.
