Inspirational Weight Loss Quotes

I thought I would just list some motivational quotes that may help some of us get through the rough times.

David Viscott
You must begin to think of yourself as becoming the person you want to be.

Eleanor Roosevelt
You must do the thing you think you cannot do.

Ralph Marston
Your goals, minus your doubts, equal your reality.

George S. Patton

Lee Iacocca
You've got to say, I think that if I keep working at this and want it badly enough I can have it. It's called perseverance.

Unknown Author
You don't drown by falling in the water. You drown by staying there.

Vince Lombardi
It's not whether you get knocked down; it's whether you get up.

Thomas A. Edison
Our greatest weakness lies in giving up. The most certain way to succeed is always to try just one more time.

Thomas Jefferson
The sovereign invigorator of the body is exercise, and of all the exercises walking is the best.

Carl Sandburg
The time for action is now. It's never too late to do something.

Harriet Beecher Stowe
When you get into a tight place and everything goes against you, till it seems as though you could not hold on a minute longer, never give up then, for that is just the place and time that the tide will turn.

The first and the best victory is to conquer self.

  2. Hi Christina, glad to "meet" you, I saw you on Steve's list of Hotties. This is going to be a great challenge.

I really liked that first quote especially:
"You must begin to think of yourself as becoming the person you want to be."

In the spirit of that quote, maybe you would like to change the name of your blog a little. It makes the declarative statement "never the skinny girl". You could say: "Never the Skinny Girl--NOT!"

Or something like that. You know, to claim the victory, rather than labeling you as from the past. Just an idea... I guess it's because I believe that words have power. And seeing that over and over could kind of subtlety program your mindset... or not! I could be all wet, too, LOL!!!

Anyway, I wish you the best of success with the challenge.

Hi Loretta I might have to think about changing the name, never thought about it like that but I understand what you are saying.

  4. This is nowhere near as inspirational (love the ones you posted) but one my BFF and I use when a particular temptation enters the office is "Nothing tastes as good as healthy feels." It helps us. I'm adding yours to my list!

  5. Mrs. D I've heard that one before but I've always heard it said as "Nothing tastes as good as skinny feels" but I like yours better. Good luck on your weight loss.

  6. That's exactly where ours came from! I didn't like the "skinny" part because that's not my ultimate goal. So I edited ;) And thank you!
