It's Official

It's official "I want to kill my husband".....nah but not far from it.  He knows that I'm trying to lose weight and after he got off work he stopped by Wendy's and brought home 10 double stackers and 5 fries.  He walked in with two giant bags of food and the first words out of my mouth were "I know you didn't get me anything".  That may have sounded harsh but damn can he shove temptation in my face anymore than that.  So now my house smells like greasy burgers and fries and I have no idea what I'm going to eat for dinner.  Just venting alittle, sorry.

  1. 10?!?!? Really?!? My husband doesn't bring food home like that, thank god, but on nights when he knows I won't want to cook (and therefore more likely to be tempted) he'll toss out "Taco Bell?" or some such that makes it very hard to resist.

  2. Yea there are 5 of us here so he bought each one of us 2 burgers and 1 fry. It wouldn't have been so bad if he had brought me a grilled chicken sandwich but I have made a goal not to eat any fast food for the next month.

  3. That is one of the most difficult things for me too. Especially when mine asks me to make him Mac n' Cheese or go get him Jack in the Box!! I guess the real problem is I have problems telling him no, lol. But still, he shouldn't even ask, right? But you are doing a great job avoiding temptation. Hang in there :) Just remember how you are going to be able to tempt him with that hot bod of yours and snatch it away just like those french fries, haha!

  4. Sweetie, remember what we talked about the other day. You can't control what he does, but you can control how you react to it. So he brought fast food to the house, not ideal, not really considerate of him, but he did it, it's already done. Ignore it. Eat something else, if you have to go out to get yourself something healthier do it. Don't let your husband get to you. More importantly, remember that it's just low quality, health damaging yucky fast food. That smell - that's the smell of fat, really, really unhealthy fat. You are not missing anything.

*hugs* Hang in there. You are strong enough to handle that :)

  5. Thank you Olivia and I did tell him after everyone was through eating that I had set a goal not to eat any fast food this month and I did stay strong. And you are right it is hard to say no to our husbands but its something we have to learn to be alittle selfish on and think of our health first.

Hi Floriana you know I always look forward to what you have to say and of course you are right. I didn't eat any of that yucky, unhealthy, greasy food even though it sure did smell good....lol...I was stronger than I thought I could be and in a way I almost appreciated the challenge of him bringing fast food into the house because I got to see just how strong I am. Thank you and a big hug for being here for me.

  6. Christina,

My guy works in a country club and comes home with fresh pastries twice a week at least. I do taste small nibbles, just so I don't feel deprived while he and my son wolf down the rest.

I admire your perseverance and the fact that you didn't actually kill him!

  7. I woke up last night to my husband crunching away on MY pretzels. I thought, "Seriously?!? All the CRAP we have in this house that you could be eating and you choose to eat MY LUNCH for tomorrow???" I had to roll over and go back to sleep before I said somthing mean. LOL

    Silly boys.

  8. At first I read this first part and it made me laugh. But then I read the rest and I totally get it. I love my fiance so much, but he hasn't been very helpful with temptation. He likes sweets and can eat them but I can't and he brings them around and it's so hard! I definitely give in to temptation more than I should because of him.

  9. Oh noes! Sounds like hubby needs a heart to heart about what you need from him. Like support in the form of not bringing home foods you can't have! Ugh. Men! ~Veronica

  10. Sounds like I'm not the only one that has a man that just doesn't get it. My husband can eat whatever he wants and he does, fast food, snack cakes, sodas....and then he wonders why he has high blood pressure and high cholesterol...duh. I have talked to him about my weight loss goals but I don't get much support from him, I just have to stay strong and like Floriana said I can't control what he does but I can can control how I react to it and I choose to react to it by not giving into his temptation. Good luck to all of you.

  11. Oh wow, guys!! This makes me realize how very, very lucky I am. My hubby would never do anything like that and it's really good for me to see this and truly understand how fortunate I am. He has a regular commitment on certain evenings of the week and those are the evenings he gets his fast food fix. He never even tells me where he ate.

Christina, would he be open to you asking him to come home first, get the kids and take them to Wendy's instead of bringing the food home?

All of you have my empathy! Stay strong!

  12. Sharon I almost fell out my chair laughing when I read your question. Sorry not laughing at you but the thought of my husband taking the 3 boys out to a restaurant by himself....well you would just have to know my husband. Its ok I know I was upset yesterday when he brought the food home but its fine if thats what he wants to do because the more challenges I overcome the more I know I can lose this weight and keep it off. You are lucky though to have a husband that respects what you are trying to accomplish. Good luck with your weight loss.
