Worried about weigh in

This is the first week in awhile that I've had to worry about my weigh in.  Its my TOM and my weight is up alittle.  I have to weigh in tomorrow morning and I'm worried that I'm going to have a gain.  I am at the end of my cycle so the water weight is coming off but I'm still above what I weighed last Friday.  I'm hoping by watching what I eat today and exercising really hard this afternoon and drinking plenty of water that I will have some kind of loss tomorrow.  This is very discouraging because I was trying to hit a goal this week for one of the challenges I am participating in but at least I have until Sunday to try to lose for that challenge.  I just really don't want to see a gain on the scales in the morning.  I have gotten so use to seeing losses every week.  I need to get myself prepared mentally in case my weight is up in the morning because I don't want this to lead to any kind of backsliding.

Update:  After I got up this morning and weighed, ate my breakfast and got the kids off to school and  I had every intention of doing some housework.  Well I got on the computer to answer some emails and send some comments and ended up falling back asleep until 10:30am.  When I woke up I used the bathroom and decided to take a shower to get the day started and before I jumped in the shower I just had to weigh one more time.  The scale showed I had dropped 2 lbs since this morning which puts me below my weigh in last Friday by 1.6 lbs.  I weighed twice just to make sure the scale wasn't wrong and sure enough it still showed 224 lbs.  So crossing my fingers I will have a weight loss tomorrow after all.

  1. you nailed it on the head. get prepared mentally so that it is not devastating to see the number. Also get ready to battle it out after if the number is not what you want to see. Planning ahead helps to get you motivated for after. I have been suspecting that my losses will slow down for sometime now and am prepared for when they do to work a little harder to keep them in an acceptable range. It will keep me from spiraling when I don't see a number I like!

  2. I have found out my period puts on 3 lbs, every single month. It comes off about a week after my period ends. UGH!!! I do understand. I am really looking for a loss this coming Monday, it has got to happen, I've been at a stand still for a month and it's time. Today I'm going to start a new walk/sprint fitness on my iTouch. Plus I don't have daycare today so am going to work out at least once, twice if I can get some good music playing.
Good luck with your weigh-in and just remember next week all that water will be gone and TTOTM will be gone.
Thanks for following and stopping by. You didn't leave an e-mail address and you have none listed so if you win I need a way to get in contact with you.
Take care and have a blessed day today.

  3. weight is tricky that way...but remember this is a lifestyle change, not just a diet so you have your long-term goals in mind when you step on that scale. be proud! you are doing an amazing job!

  4. Shane you always leave me such wonderful comments, thanks for supporting me.

Thanks Julie for your comment and I hope you have a great weigh in.

I know Katie but its your challenge that I'm trying to lose for. I set a goal of losing 10 lbs in the month of October and I'm really hoping I can. Oh I won't give up if I don't because like you said this is a lifestyle change not some quick fix, I just don't like failing.

  5. Christina, you can do it! I know it's hard to see a gain, but if you see one the process is "Acknowledge, Forgive, Move On!" You can't let it break your heart or your spirit. Do well today, get on that scale and see what happens. Have a better week next week when it's no longer that TOM, because I, like you, am useless when it is my TOM. So I understand. Just get past it!!!

  6. Thank you Raych for the supportive comment. I did lose this morning, I lost 1.2 lbs and I'm very happy about that but part of me is disappointed because it is not what I wanted to see on the scale. I think that is part of the problem getting a certain number in my head and then being disappointed when I don't lose that amount. I'm going to try from now on not to aim for a certain number, just do my best.
